Did you know that visiting a college is termed “demonstrated interest” by schools and is one of the admissions criteria used to determine an applicant’s acceptance? In fact, “demonstrated interest” is one piece of the admissions puzzle that can give a student up to a 40% chance of being admitted over other applicants.

The college admissions process is a tricky one to navigate. Give yourself the best opportunity to succeed by joining us on our Syracuse University Tour.

In addition to this incredible experience, A-1 Tours offers an EXCLUSIVE partnership with University Seekers. University Seekers is a college preparatory service led by a local college admissions expert. With their guidance they market your personal profile to your dream schools. They stay in touch with the admissions departments to ensure your application is highlighted, giving you a leg up on the competition.

This trip will not only explore the University Campus itself. You will get a chance to explore the food scene, some fun activities with friends and learn fun facts about the place of your potential new home.

Day 1:

Welcome to Syracuse!

Syracuse University is located in the heart of New York State overlooking the city of Syracuse. As we arrive, we will start with a walking tour of the city center where you will learn some history, see some downtown landmarks as well as hear interesting facts about the city and its appeal. The guide will tell you about the perks and all the good reasons to move to a vibrant place! Along the tour you will also enjoy a range of food samplings, we’ll try things such as: Pulled pork sliders, lemon-curd pancakes or salt potato poutine, churro French toast, stretch bread and hot tomato oil, shepherd’s pie and Rueben fritter as well as some sweet delights in form of chocolate truffles or similar. All food is provided from local restaurants, cafes and stores. These tastings will be enough to replace lunch and you will be full of energy for the Syracuse University Campus Tour.

….and YES! With enough notice we can accommodate for most dietary restrictions!

Syracuse University Campus Tour:

Along with a representative from the University, you will tour the area and learn about the University and life on campus. The tour will begin with an overview session followed by an actual walking tour as well as a Q&A session. A visit to the University Campus Store will also be made for you to purchase some cool memorable college gear and souvenirs.

Visit to Destiny USA for Shopping, Games, Dinner & Fun!

After the campus tour, we’ll proceed to some fun at Destiny USA. This six–story shopping, dining, and entertainment complex is one of the largest malls in New York State.

All students will be given a welcome bag with some discount coupons and a mall pass. There will be some time to explore the complex and perhaps some well-deserved retails therapy.

Dinner will be served at Dave & Buster’s. (or similar)

The dinner buffet will include items such as fresh fruit display, chips with guac, queso & salsa, creole shrimp dip, and burgers. Boneless wings & sauces along with soda or iced tea (menu subject to change) the group will also of course have time to enjoy the arcade with pre-paid power cards before heading to the hotel for check-in and catch some Zzz...Zzz.

Day 2:

After breakfast, you will board the bus and head towards Corning.

Corning Museum of Glass lunch and workshop:

On the way back home, we will make a stop at Corning Museum of Glass. This really neat museum is dedicated to art, history, and the science of making glass. It currently has a collection of over 50,000 glass objects.

We will enjoy lunch in the cafeteria followed by a brief tour and glassblowing demonstration.

You will also take part in a sandblasting workshop where you get to design a cup, this cup is yours to keep as a memory of this trip.

After the visit, you will sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride back!
