Join A-1 Tours for a two day early summer trip to Washington, DC. We explore The National Mall and Arlington National Cemetery with a guide on day one and we head out to commemorate the US Army's 250th Anniversary on the second day. The anniversary will be celebrated with the spectacular Military Parade in Central DC as well as with some amazing festivities.

The adventure will start Friday morning, June 13. We'll be leaving New Jersey and heading straight to DC/VA. Our first stop is the awe-inspiring Arlington Cemetery, where over 400,000 heroes rest. We'll visit the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, stand in awe at President John F. Kennedy’s Gravesite with its eternal flame, and explore the historic Arlington House.

Next, we'll dive into the heart of American history with a tour of the National Mall. Imagine standing before the majestic Lincoln Memorial, feeling inspired at the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial, and soaking in the grandeur of the Roosevelt and Jefferson Memorials. The WWII, Korean War, and Vietnam Veterans Memorials will leave you deeply moved. As we stroll, the Washington Monument will tower in the distance, and we might even catch glimpses of the White House, Capitol Building, and Supreme Court, adding to the thrill of the day. After this exciting day, you'll have the evening to relax and unwind at our hotel.

The next morning, the excitement continues. You'll have the entire day to explore DC at your own pace. And then, get ready for the highlight of the trip – the spectacular parade! Picture this: over 6,000 soldiers marching, 150 military vehicles rolling by, and impressive aircraft soaring through the sky. It's going to be a day to remember!

You'll have prime viewing spots at the National Mall, with the Washington Monument Grounds as the central hub. Here you will enjoy easy access to food, water, and restrooms while soaking in the vibrant atmosphere.

 

The Parade is set to start at 6:00pm near the Pentagon and work its’ way across Memorial Bridge around Lincoln Memorial and the head east on Constitution Avenue. The grounds will host artist performances during the day and the event will wrap up around 10:00am after an breathtaking firework display. Upon conclusion guests will head back to the coach and relax on a comfortable coach ride back.

 

Guests will be dropped off and picked up at a point as central as possible to the National Mall (exact details TBA) Guests should however be prepared to walk and stand for longer periods of time.
